Aicha Fall
Her photography is very vibrant and colourful it is very eye catching because of that and the culture it is based around this creates an understanding for those that are not of it and that makes a more welcoming feeling. She wanted to create it seems an understanding between everyone and her culture as just the starting point. She is also using to tell her cultures story as well as her story with this creative of way of photography.

Delfi Carmona
She is a Photographer from Argentina who is mostly concerned with light and shadow and that they became an expression of her self. for me her work is very aesthetically pleasing with the use of the light and shadow creating all of these different images and shapes with the main subject in the photo and how that main subject interacts with the shadows is for me the most intriguing part for me as it is a object with a define shape crating new shapes on it sort of like and inception of shapes and how the shadows distorts the perception of the shape.

Larry Sultan
Larry sultans photos from pictures from home are a sort of memory relapse of times with parents and grand parents and the feeling you get from looking at them and remembering those times bring a happy mood to me and the photos themselves some are grainy is quality but add to the mood and some seem kind of lonely but just gives me a reminder to be happy about the times I have had with them. I think The photos for me are not really meant for being aesthetically pleasing it is about the reminiscing about those times.

Collin Grey
His photos are more based on fantasies made by a child but the actors you could say are there grand parents. Although I don't know who the people in the pictures are to the photographer and wether they were his childhood fantasies but the vivid imagination in them foe me mean that he cared a lot about the portrayal of them.

His images are mainly about his home and culture with the cooking of the food he ate as a child while also incorporating masks and statues from his and other cultures. The memories people could get from this is are most likely feelings of nostalgia of similar memories to his which would create common ground for them to look at more of his photos it is the fact that he created this from nothing which he says in the video that black people have created their culture from nothing so I think that that is a big part of this series. If I were to create a series like this I would not use food I would mainly take photos of technology as that is what my house hold uses the most. He has been inspired but Gary Simmons and he has carried on that sort of message of creating their own or showing the original tropes of their culture rather than their culture in prop houses.

My own photos from home
These photos are taken around the perspective in my room that I do not usually look at and the main idea around it being that some of the photographers researched have some fantasy to them and for me this a fantasy before I looked at them in this perspective and when I did it became reality I am not really taking into account any lighting or any specific positioning of any of the objects just the natural state of my room form different perspectives I think it worked quite well as from the researched photographers none of them really looked at the natural perspectives state i a room and the different perspectives available which is my own style when it comes to postcards from home.
Response in School
These photos are of my phone, earphones and portable charger. I chose to take photos of these objects as for me this is what I most use when I am not in school my favourite photo is the one that looks like an advertising photo of a portable charger mainly due to the positioning of the portable charger and the angle of the photo it self. The significance these objects are basically what keeps me entertained when I feel bored as the phone it self connects me to the outside world the earphones so I don't disturb anyone when doing it and the charger so I can keep being connected to it. Some of the photos I tried to set it up as it is in my bedroom as if it on the bedside cabinet and others I am setting up for the best view. There are a vary of different angles some at eye level, some above and some below which I mainly did for the different perspectives as when you usually look at these objects you only look at it in one perspective. With the lighting I only used the ambient light from the lights in the room. For my most successful photograph what worked well was the fact that it was just that one object which means when you look at it singularly you an think of what that one object does for me or you and if you look at it together with other photos you can think about the connection that is establish when using them.
First Diptychs
I have 4 diptychs which all have their own connections but the main one I am focusing on is the big image as they have similar lines and go well together. Both images have something odd in the images with a stuffed toy and a laminated checklist of what I am supposed to do in the morning and they are both in my room which for me is what my home is like every bedroom has a checklist to keep the room clean and the stuffed toy is not totally related but it plays into the fact that they can be messy if not put back in the place where it belongs. The lines in the images is the big part with them being straight line at different angles and this was something that my phone just did but it is an accident that I am happy with.
Niall McDiarmid
The colours in these photos are very vibrant and eye catching and it draws a lot of attention to most things in the photos it makes you see a lot of the details in the image and not just solely focused on one subject but this has multiple subjects. I think the concepts are mainly based around breakfast and the aftermath of it and the ones that are after breakfast it feels somewhat abandoned. A lot of these photos contain a lot of natural light and shadow and considering he is in Britain in the mornings there are not that many days that fit the criteria and also you can see that there are time jumps with the fact that the butter is a different levels. I think that the photos themselves are composed as it does look like an advertisement and everything is too neat and clean and when I have breakfast I don't put everything on the table. There are common occurrences within each photo with some of the same objects.
Response to Niall McDiarmid
With working with other people was a bit difficult as the items we had some went together and some didn't so we could only have some of the items there. It was also very restrictive with movement as there are more than you taking photos it made it difficult to take photos from different angles. I did whittle down the amount of photos from the 70 to 12 as some were just completely blurry and some was similar to each-other and some didn't work well at all and did not look good. It was very progressive with the setup as we originally started with a light and them put filter over it to create a different colour then I decided to use the edge of the pain that we used as a filter to spilt the image and have different shades of the colour of the pane and it created images I am happy with. The ones that I think are the most successful are the ones involving the pane as it adds something different from the original still life.
Portait photos with Niall McDiarmid
the photos I took on the advice on Niall McDiarmid was interesting and made the photos to me more thoughtful and look better at first glance some of the images are a bit odd with the timing of things and I was interested in the position people taking the photos were in and how I could use the advice given to make them more thoughtful. Some of the photos worked really well and the composition of the body in the image is really good considering I didn't give any instruction which does not go with some of the advice given but I like the natural pose they take when they are taking a photograph. I also think the orange in some of the images works quite well as it distinguishes between the subject and background, with the some of the ones outside there are some images where the background does help with the trees and bushes making a more complete image.
2nd Photoshoot
In every home there are the foundations that make the building stand and the lines and formations they create are the bare basics of a home and what you use to decorate the home show some of the persons personality and these photos are all around the house in the living room and the corridors and toilets and while all of those decorating decisions were done by my mother I tried to focus on the lines and formations that they related along with the idea of the bare basics of a home and I decided to do it in flash photography mainly for the reason as it will highlight the lines in them and draw focus to the shadow they create. The ones I like the most are the ones with pipes as they are form the bare basics of a house and I also like the ones of doorframe and ceiling as you can actually see the foundations them. These photos do not really say home and seem very detached from feeling and that may be because I want to move out but the idea of looking at the foundations of a house is the begging of getting a home personally.
Second Diptychs
Sequences of Diptychs
This first sequence of diptychs had an image that did not fit well and that was the 4th image where it is next to the railing and above the bin roll. The reason why I took it out is that it does not connect nicely with the images around it, but I did find an image that can replace it
This is the sequence of images that I want to use as it flows nicely and starts and finishes on my favourite images and it sort of brings and the sequence starts with decoration and travels through both more decoration and the foundations of the house. But it ends with the foundations and it is sort of like a reverse story where usually you look at the foundations first and end on the decorations but on my sequence you do not which could represent the fact that I want to move out so this is sort of that process where you look at what decorations you want to take and see the foundations after you have removed it all.
Final Set
This first started off with photos in my room and looking at the perspectives I wouldn't normally see And then from that I thought that it didn't feel like home and that is because I have the determination to move out so instead of the home feel that of family, I have focused on the literal home and the foundations and formations of lines that the decorations and anything create. The research on the many photographers I have done didn't really give me much influence on this final set apart from one, Delfi Carmona is someone who took photos of the lines and formations that shadows cast and that is something that pushed me toward going forward with this line of photography and with other photographers I have looked show more personal outtake on what home is which I don't really like to do. This is why the type of images I have taken are about the space and the flow of the diptychs between them focus on the spaces left free. I more of wanted the flow to represent the moving out process with the first image being of picture frames and the last image being door frames and everything in between is the relation between the foundation and decoration. The foundations I am referring to are stuff you expect to see when you are moving in e.g the railing, curtain frame and stove along with actual foundations of pipes and door frames. With that clarification it is more easily seen the relations of foundation and decorations. With the images I have edited them slightly in photoshop as before they were quite dull but the editing brought more light and clarity to the images making all the lines and formations more easily seen. The reason why I also took them in flash was partly due to insufficient lighting but mainly because it will highlight all of the lines and formations and also it makes it seem more of a selection of images you would view when buying a house. All of this came due to the interpretation oh the word home as depending on the person it can have different meanings and for me a home is the place where you eat and sleep, it does not have any special connotations.
